Koln, Germany

No question, my FAVORITE "Spot" in Germany, during my time spent over there ...
And yes, I have been there, many, MANY times over the years!
I can still remember my first time there, or, actually, I was right at the base of those towers, on a Bus Tour down to the Alps, and yeah, we pulled up right at the base of those, ahh, huge, "Twin Towers", late, on a cold, foggy, night ... OMG!
Unreal.
What? Like, 1985 ... Yeah!
Then, later on, oh yeah ... I found THIS SPOT, and yeah ... LOVED IT!
And that was just when I was actually living over there in Bremerhaven, for three years ... Then, like YEARS later (when I took this shot), yeah! The "river cruise" company I shot for, ahh, VIKING RIVER CRUISES, would actually stop, and park right under the bridge, while we all were out enjoying the city!
Look at the image again ... See that long, white, ship there? Yeah, that was where I had to "hustle back" to after getting this shot!

Really.
We took off later on that evening ... No worries! Like I had said, I had been there "a few times" before, and knew just where I wanted to be at sunset!
Yeah, I checked, and 2010 was the date I came up with from the "DATA from this image. Works for me.
And yes, shot with my tripod, at f16, for all that SHARPNESS, and yeah, that BLURRED shutter-speed train "action", you know, just because I could!
Yes, I wanted IT ALL in focus, and so I went with f16 (BIG NUMBER), for that GREAT DEPTH of FIELD, that yeah, I have talked about many times before!
Remember ... By setting your APERTURE at a "BIG NUMBER" (like f16), yeah, you get a "Greater Depth of Field", which means more will be in FOCUS from front to back, within the final image!
"BIG NUMBER, BIG DEPTH of FIELD".
Period.
And yes! With a WIDE ANGLE setting, like this one (18mm), yeah! Even BETTER!
True, your SHUTTER-SPEEDS get slower, and slower, at this setting (f16), but that is where the TRIPOD comes into play!
Yes, the TRAIN is "BLURRED" because it is MOVING, but the BRIDGE, and the CHURCH are not, so yeah, they are both SHARP AS CAN BE!
Try it!
Get out there, anywhere there are CITY LIGHTS, and wait until the sun sets! Use your tripod to keep everything sharp ("we breathe, therefore we MOVE")!
Something about a beating heart, or some such "science" thing, what can I say?
A GOOD tripod, and cable-release, or self-timer, helps takes care of all "that stuff" for you!
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
Over the years, yeah, one of my FAVORITE times to be OUT THERE,like, anywhere!
SUNSET, and yeah, even SUNRISE, you know, if I could get out there at that time as well ... Which I tried to as often as possible! Ha!
It is all just a BIG GAME we play!
Remember, RULE NUMBER ONE, baby!
It is all about THE LIGHT, period.
Be there, when THE LIGHT is there! That simple!
Now, get out there, and see what you can come up with!
Camera/lens.
Tripod.
2-Second self-timer, or cable release.
Then, yeah! Wait for "THE LIGHT"!
PLAY, PLAY, PLAY!
I mean, ahh, WORK, WORK, WORK!
See what YOU can come up with!
Enjoy, I KNOW I have over the past FIFTY something years!
