Egyptian LIGHT!

I enjoyed my time in Egypt, after dreaming about getting over there for YEARS!

And if you know me, yeah, you know this image was bound to come about in some way or another ...

RULE NUMBER ONE.

Egyptian LIGHT.

Morning light ... Got there early, all set up the day before, I might add ...

Yeah, a camel, with a rider dressed like a "Real Egyptian" (trust me, he was in jeans just prior to me dragging him back out here!), and those three "pointed things" in the background!

I had to "arrange this", it just didn't happen! Most "tourists" aren't familiar with MY THREE RULES, so yeah, I had to find the right person (and camel!), willing to help me, ahh, "stage this image"!

WORK, WORK, WORK!

In Egypt.

So yeah, I showed up early, and to be honest with you ... Yeah, this was done, like I said, "a few years ago", so bear with me ...

So yeah, first thing was to get the driver looking like a "REAL" camel rider, like I said, then getting "out there" from his whatever it was ... Shop, barn, whatever!

Get out of his "regular jeans/t-shirt/baseball hat" outfit, and get that robe and turban doing their thing! Hey! Money talks!

Like him, I did what I had to do, to get the "LOOK" I was "dreaming of", for, ahh, like, YEARS!

It was CRAZY!

But worth whatever it was I had to do, to get, ahh, MY SHOT!

And you know I was loving that LIGHT!

Egypt, baby! Nice and early!

Did I mention Egypt is located in Northern AFRICA, and yeah, it warms up pretty early, ahh, all year round! In fact, yeah, if I remember correctly or not, yeah! Being the middle school teacher (and college photography instructor!) that I was, yeah, I was there on my SUMMER Vacation!

Really.

I know!

So yeah, bright and EARLY!

Ha! I giggle just thinking about it!

But yeah, there we were, all THREE of us!

Great location, even better LIGHT!

And again, if you know me, yeah ... Even back in the "OLD DAYS", yeah, I had my WARMING FILTER mounted on my lens! You know, in the PRE- "CLOUDY" white balance days!

You know what was going on ... Me, controlling those giggles, the camel, just bored out of it's mind, ahh, just standing there, and the guide, you know, "playing the "Old School" camel driver, or whatever they were called ... In full costume!

And it was, you know, starting to WARM UP!

So yeah, SHOOT, ADJUST, SHOOT, ADJUST, SHOOT ADJUST, and then, you know me!

SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT!

As fast (but don't "hurry"!) as I could!

And "just one more" ...

Over and over, and over again!

Or so I like to remember!

These were 35mm slides after all ... I couldn't see 'em at that time!

And I was FINALLY, you know, in EGYPT, standing in front of the Pyramids, with a camel, and a guy that looks like, you know, a "real" Egyptian!

Shot like a "Madman", and rode away (yes! I rode the camel out there and back!) like one happy photographer!

Giggled the whole way back!

Like I am right now, just thinking about it!

I love "getting out there"!

Just GET OUT THERE, and have some fun, with a camera in your hand!

Unless you are holding on to your camel as you move back and forth over the sand, that is!
