LUX

Really, that is what I labelled this image: LUX
Period.
Worked for me.
I mean, I know where I was when I "PUSHED THE BUTTON", don't you?
Now true, coming up with what year I took it ... Oh wait! I think I remember, I mean, I was only in the country, ahh, once, so it had to be 2009, you know, that year I went over to visit a Marine friend of mine that was in my Section over there in japan, ahh, "back in the day"! Yeah, from 1976-1978 ... Over in Atsugi, Japan.
He arrived about a week, or so, ahead of me ... Yeah, Micheal J. Harris, from Indiana. True, the first time we met, he was in another Section, but yeah, after awhile, somehow, he ended up joining the same one I was in ... Can't remember how long, but yeah, at least the first six or eight months, doesn't matter, all I can remember is him endeing up in Second Section and getting into the "BEST" Section!
Oh, did we have some great times over there ... Riding our motorcycles (mine was the only, ahh, "Legal" one of the three of four of the group! Yeah, and even then, I was the only one that actually had a licence before, and while serving over there, at that time!
And trust me, there was a reason why they didn't really like American's getting their motorcycle driver's license over there (NARROW streets, WRONG SIDE of the road!) ... But yeah, because I was taking college classes in Criminal Justice at the time, at our "other base" that we worked at over there a few miles away (can't remember the mileage, but yeah, "a short ways away" ... Yeah, another American/Japanese Naval "sub-station", or something ... In fact, yeah, I think it was one of those "Communication" places ... With underground, bunker type places, where we had to check IDs, and, well, you know, "stuff like that" ... Hey, I just did what I was ordered to do! Make sure everyone had ID Cards, period.
It was "above my pay grade", and yeah, it was more interesting that standing at the main gate, or worse yet, the "back gate" at our main base, and waving in all the cars that came on/off base ... And SALUTING the ones with RED tags, and waving to the ones with BLUE tags! Especially the Naval women with the BLUE tags!
Hey! The "RED tag women", were, yeah, I knew my limitations, that was for sure!
Yeah, 24/7, for ahh, TWO years! Every three days, or something ... With WEEKEND DUTY every third weekend, or something like that!
Hey, it's been awhile!
I just giggle, thinking about it now!
In fact, yeah, FIFTY years to the month! I can't remember what day, but yeah, SEPTEMBER 1976. I remember it like it was ... Well, FIFTY years ago, give me a break!
Yeah, I graduated BOOT CAMP on 1 Jun 76 (three months) ... Then up to New York, ahh, on LEAVE, then out to California for Infantry Training (81mm Mortars), and that Beach Boys Concert! And then ... Yeah, up to Alaska, and finally over to Japan, to a large Japanese/American Naval Base at YOKOSUKA, Japan, where the Marine General was stationed! That was our ...
Gotta go! Football Game!
I'll get back with you!
