Well, way before I ever heard of that term anyways!

Yeah, while on my AROUND THE WORLD TOUR, back in 2005, I ended up sleeping in this fantastic, YURT thingy, out in the middle of nowhere, in Mongolia, you know, somewhere way out there!

It was unreal!

Like, hello?

It's MONGOLIA, in a freakin' YURT, are you kiddin' me?

I loved it!

Yeah, it was all part of that TRANS-SIBERIAN RAILROAD trip thing, that I took to connect my two VIKING RIVER CRUISE trips I photographed that summer, one in Russia, the second in China. And yeah, somehow, it all came together!

I mean, I knew I signed up for a LONG train ride, but yeah, I don't remember just how I ended up out THERE, being guided to my "room" for the night by a young boy, and his horse!

Again, it doesn't matter!

All I remember about that night was that is was very nice inside, and yeah, I believe I slept pretty darn good!

More comfortable than on the train, but then again, that was pretty cool too! But yeah, less noise, and vibrations, that is for sure!

I LOVED IT!

What? Like twenty, twenty-one years ago, THIS summer ... Yeah, the Summer of 2005. All part of my 50th Birthday Summer Vacation Bash! Or, you know, whatever I called it back then!

Oh, of course!

My "AROUND THE WORLD IN 64 DAYS Tour"!

Ha! That's right!

The details are a wee-bit "fuzzzzzy" this instant, but yeah, somehow, I made it to St. Petersburg, then took a train to Moscow, where I took my first VIKING RIVER CRUISE, and then, after that, yeah, I boarded The Trans-Siberian Railroad back in Moscow, made a few stops along the way, and ended up here in Mongolia, then continued on to photograph a beautiful sunset over Lake Baikal (see above), and then ended up over in Beijing, China, where I then took my second VIKING RIVER CRUISE, before ending up in Shanghai, before flying off to Hawaii, to visit the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial (had to visit that!), and spend some time in a great hotel, and beaches, while I was there!

Yeah! I even spent one night right on the beach, after driving a rented Honda motorcycle around the island of Oahu, you know, among all those pineapple fields all day long!

Yeah, my 50th State on a Motorcycle, the year I actually turned FIFTY.

Pretty cool.

Hard to believe it was over TWENTY years ago!

Funny how that all worked out.

But yeah, seeing THIS image brings it all back! Maybe not as "clear" as I would like, but hey! It was a CRAZY summer! And at this point in my life, just being able to sit here, and see all the images, and actually REMEMBER the trip, yeah, that works for me!

What an experience!

Good luck with that.

Get out there, and MAKE YOUR OWN MEMORIES!

Anywhere!

Enjoy.
