SIMPLE

You know, this reminds me that, no, I haven't been down to the Everglades in awhile ... Not this PAST winter, anyways!

Something about "Falling Down" and going BOOM!

But maybe this will remind me that yes! I hope to get down there NEXT winter, you know, like I used to, ahh, "Back in the Day"!

Yeah, while teaching, yeah, I used to drive down EVERY year, you know, over Christmas Break, stay at the "Last Campground", usually in the very same "SPOT", and take a little hike everyday, with my camera and tripod in hand, of course!

EVERY DAY.

And then, return, and take a RIDE up the road, ahh, EVERY DAY as well, to you know, take more, and more, and more images!

EVERY DAY.

And one thing I noticed, was that, you know, AFTER you take "all the pictures there are", yeah, you tend to, you know, "FIND NEW ONES", that true, have been there EVERY day, I just "failed to see them"!

So, like this one, yeah, I finally, you know, "SAW THEM" for what they really were, you know, say it with me!

"SIMPLE".

I mean, they are RIGHT THERE! Right in FRONT of me, well, you know what I mean... True, they were actually, ahh, "ON THE SIDE" of me while I walked down the side of the road, but yeah, once I actually STOPPED, and set up my tripod, you know, facing "the side of the road", yeah, they were really, ahh, IN FRONT OF ME, and my camera!

You know what I mean!

Simple, right?

And yes, I know this very same scene looks totally DIFFERENT the rest of the year, but yeah ... WINTER, ahh, "cleans everything up", and, like I have stated, yeah, brings out the, what I came to call, the "COMPLEX SIMPLICITY" of my work, or images, of, you know, anything, but yeah, in THIS case, yeah, nature!

Yeah, that was the term I came up with back, you know, when the college was actually paying for sharing my knowledge, but yeah, now that I RETIRED, and have nothing else to do (Ahh, it's HOT out there today!), yeah, I just narrowed it down to ONE WORD, a very simple, plain, "little" word, yeah ...

"SIMPLE".

I like this whole RETIREMENT thing.

Yeah, find any "REPEATING" shape, or object, and yeah, just ZOOM -IN and capture nothing but that pattern, whatever it happens to be!

You know, think about it!

RULE NUMBER TWO, baby!

To the extreme!

Make the whole image a collection of just that one (or many!), LINES, SHAPES, and PATTERNS, that you are looking at when you ZOOM-IN!

Isolate that one aspect you want to show in your image. Very simple.

Get it?

"SIMPLE".

Yeah, that easy, but at the same time, ahh, very COMPLEX!

I know!

But remember, I lived in Japan for two years, so yeah ... That explains THAT!

I mean, where else would I come up with such a, ahh, higher level of thinking, and comprehension, as THAT?

Remember, besides being a real, ahh, COLLEGE "PROFESSOR", yeah, I also was a middle school Special Ed, teacher, so yeah, I got this covered, no problem!

Plus, I'm listening to Bob Dylan as I'm typing this, so yeah, "How does it feel"?

Works for me.

Oh! And as I was adding this image, another one "caught my eye"!

And another ... Yeah, from the same FOLDER thingy I have on my computer ...

And, ahh, maybe even just one more, ahh, sort of!

Yeah, really! They were all just "sitting there, just waiting to be "picked"!

But, since I was "talking about" this same, ahh, simple, COMPLEX SIMPLICITY aspect thingy anyways, yeah, why not?

Again, WORKS FOR ME!

OK, this last one is really "pushing" the limits", if I were to be completely honest, but yeah, like I like to say, over, and over, and over again ... Come on!

"WORK WITH ME HERE, PEOPLE"!

Just trying to "Push the Limits" here, for you! I did teach college photography, in a real classroom (or two)! That is what I try to do, ahh, all the time!

In fact, you knew this was coming, sooner or later!

Yeah, get out there and find your own images that deal with the subject of today!

COMPLEX SIMPLICITY.

Simple.

Come on! These were all in the same folder, that yeah, I "filled", ahh, like, months ago!

You can do it!

WORK at it!

Grad your camera (any one you want!), and yeah, get OUT THERE, and find a DOZEN images that YOU think cover the subject of, yeah:

"COMPLEX SIMPLICITY".

They are EVERYWHERE!

Oh yeah, I'm so "Pumped" now, I believe, ahh, once it cools off a wee-bit out there, yeah, I'll take a little walk myself!

With a camera, oh! One of my, ahh, "REAL", you know, DSLR type camera thingies!

Cool.

Really, that's all it takes for me ... I've been inside all day, "working" on this BLOG thing all morning ahh, it's 2:09 PM right now!) ... Yeah.

I WILL do it!

Until I walk out the door ...

But yeah, like I said, I'll wait until it cools down a little!

But yeah, as a former teacher, and photographer, and even a soccer and track coach, and fly-fishing Nut, oh! And yeah, Track Coach, Cross-Country coach, and Geography Bee Nut, plus, a Marine Security Guard, and Mortar Platoon Sergeant, and Judo Instructor, plus a baseball player, football player, and track runner (and pole-vaulting crazy person), heck, even a basketball player as well, yeah, walking around with a camera should be, ahh, SIMPLE.

Come on! How was that! You know, for "coming around Full Circle", when writing up this BLOG thing, oh! Which I failed to mention earlier, by the way ... So yeah! How did THAT work out?
