The American "Flag"!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

Turned out I taught College ART 261, and ART 262, for Twenty-five years at the local Community College, right here in my "Home Town", of Hudson, North Carolina!

And grew up on Army bases as a young boy, then served as a Marine in my early twenties, then worked as a civilian photographer for the Army, for three years, and volunteered as a photographer for several Public Affair Offices on the Army bases where my then wife was stationed for another seven years, before finally teaching ART (photography!) at the local Community College, ahh, right up the street, until I retired!

Which got me to, ahh, SEE an "American Flag", even when there wasn't a "real one" in front of me at the time!

Talk about, ahh, "COLORS"!

That is a Marine (or maybe a MILITARY) term for THE RAISING and LOWERING of the AMERICAN FLAG on base every day!

Oh yeah! At least to me anyways! I can't remember if the Army called it that, or not!

I lived on Army bases (father and wife) much longer than I did on Marine/Navy ones, trust me!

Anywho ...

And after all these years working as a photographer, yeah, maybe I did actually become a, you know, "REAL" artist!

And yes, that was one thing I tried to get all my student (middle school and college!) to understand, say it with me!

Just do what you love, and you can't go wrong!

Oh! And YES! That first "flag" was made out of all those "clothing tag things" right here in Western Carolina where a LOT of textile mills were located, ahh, back in the day!
